SESSION 3: GETTING STARTED

Computer manual

Read the instructions and put them in the correct order:


1. After you have connected the hardware (computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer etc ), you will need to install the system software on to your hard disk from a system disk or CD



2. You will then need to restart and your computer should boot automatically from the hard disk

3. The operating system is successfully installed, you can install your computer programs and other software

Complete these definitions
Hardware is  is the collection of physical elements that constitutes a computer system.
Software is  any set of instructions that directs a computer to perform specific tasks or operations.
A mouse is  is a pointing device that detects two-dimensional motion relative to a surface.
Boot means computer is to load an operating system into the computer's main memory or random access memory
